Golf has been at the center of Kelley Brooke's life since childhood. Raised in Iowa in a family passionate about the game, Brooke grew up surrounded by golf. Her mother was both the city and club champion, her father played to a single-digit handicap, and family outings often revolved around tournaments and practice rounds. When Kelley was born, her parents famously placed a putter in her crib.
That early exposure sparked a lifelong commitment to the sport.
By the time she was ten years old, Brooke was competing in the national junior golf circuit. She was drawn not only to the competition but also to the unique character of the game itself — a sport where integrity, discipline, and accountability determine success. "Golf is an objective game," Brooke often says. "Your score is your score." Those principles would guide her throughout a career that now spans more than four decades.

In the early 1990s, Brooke moved to New York and began teaching golf at driving ranges in New Jersey and Staten Island. Charging $25 per lesson, she quickly built a loyal following of students who appreciated her clear teaching style and passion for the game. Within a short time, she was teaching from morning to night, with a waiting list weeks long. Brooke soon expanded her reach beyond instruction. She began writing instructional articles for national publications including Golf Digest, Golf.com, and Junior Golf Magazine, and produced one of the first locally broadcast golf instruction television programs in the New York market. Those early media experiences would become an important part of her career as she developed a reputation not only as a teacher, but as an advocate for growing the game.
Early in her career, Brooke wrote a goal on an index card: within ten years she would own and operate her own golf facility.
She achieved that goal in 2003 when she won the bid to operate Brooklyn Golf Center and Riis Park Golf Course, beating proposals from several major golf industry organizations.
That milestone launched what would become Brooke Management Group, a golf operations and management company that today oversees multiple golf facilities across New York and Long Island.
Under Brooke's leadership, the organization now operates or manages golf operations at:
Across these locations, Brooke Management Group serves thousands of golfers each day and employs more than 250 team members.
In 2026, Brooke Management Group expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of Pine Ridge Golf Course in Coram, New York.
