A Distinctive 18-Hole Public Golf Experience in the Heart of Long Island

Carved through a native pine forest in Central Suffolk County, Pine Ridge Golf Club offers a golf experience that feels removed from the pace and congestion of everyday Long Island life.

Surrounded by mature trees, natural sandy areas and peaceful wooded corridors, each hole has its own character-and many feel almost completely separated from the rest of the course.

A Course with a Character All Its Own

Opened in 2006, Pine Ridge is one of Long Island's newer public golf courses. The par-70 layout extends to 6,607 yards from the back tees and offers four sets of tees, allowing golfers to select a distance that best suits their experience and ability.

The course was thoughtfully routed through the existing pine forest, creating tree-lined fairways, secluded greens and a feeling of privacy rarely associated with daily-fee golf. The setting is peaceful, but the golf requires attention: accuracy from the tee, thoughtful club selection and a confident approach to the greens are rewarded throughout the round.

Enjoyable for Every Golfer. Challenging from Every Tee.

Pine Ridge provides a welcoming experience for recreational golfers while offering more than enough challenge for accomplished players. Four sets of tees range from 4,868 to 6,607 yards. From the back tees, the course carries a rating of 72.1 and a slope of 133, reflecting the challenge created by its length, narrow playing corridors and strategically demanding holes.

The course's unusual par-70 configuration includes five par-3s and three par-5s, creating variety throughout the round. Shorter holes offer opportunities to score, while the longer par-4s and demanding back-nine stretch require both distance and precision.

The Challenge of the Back Nine

The round builds toward one of Pine Ridge's most memorable stretches: holes 11 through 14. Beginning with the course's longest hole, the 589-yard par-5 11th, the sequence continues with two formidable par-4s before reaching another substantial par-5 at the 14th. Hole 13, a 494-yard par-4 from the back tees, is rated as the most difficult hole on the course.

It is a stretch that can define a round-and one that rewards patient course management, well-positioned tee shots and confident approach play.

Bentgrass Playing Surfaces

Pine Ridge features bentgrass greens, tees and fairways, providing the playing surfaces golfers expect from a quality daily-fee facility. The course is now entering a new chapter under Brooke Management Group, with continued attention being directed toward playing conditions, irrigation, landscaping and the enhancement of the course's natural sandy features.
