It's one of those times of the year when you wish it wasn't that time of year - the end of summer. The temperature is starting to drop, to leaves will begin to fall, you'll have to put away the swimsuit and cover the pool - I could go on, but we all know the routine. However, there is plenty of good to take from the end of summer - it's the beginning of fall! There are many things to look forward to now that it's fall - the leaves changing color, the cool breezes, the fact that you can wear a nice sweater again, etc.
Fall golf is my favorite kind of golf. September/October is the best time to golf because it's not too hot and it's not too cold. You can be comfortable in a sweater or just a polo. You can wear either pants or shorts, both are good in fall weather. The courses become a bit less crowded now that summer is over - you can go out in the afternoon and not run into a conga line of foursomes. The courses look prettier in the fall with the leaves changing colors - the only problem is finding your golf ball on the leaf-covered ground.
Pine Ridge has a few events happening this fall that everyone should check out. The Sam Adams Open and Montauk Oktoberfest are great events - beer tasting, beer pairings, seasonal dinners, the list goes on. You have your summer memories, make some fall memories at Pine Ridge!
