I'm not sure if you've all heard the name Cameron Champ before, but be ready to hear that name a lot more often. Champ won his first PGA Tour event at the Sanderson Farms Championship in Mississippi - this was just his second PGA Tour start. This young man wasn't even a professional golfer this time last year - he was contemplating finishing his senior year at Texas A&M. He squeaked through Q-School and finished in the top 10 on the Web.com Tour - now he's charging onto the scene and his game looks like he can take on the best of the best.
Cam is best-known for his driving abilities. He crushes it off the tee - you'll see his name near the top of the lists for driving distance. He's also a great putter - he finished at the top this week in strokes gained on the greens. That's a lethal combo - you're one of the longest hitters and one of the best putters, that's a formula that should lead to a lot of victories. If he can hit his irons and wedges halfway decent every time out he should contend in just about any tournament.
Keep an eye on this young man - he should contend in plenty of tournaments this season, he's clearly got the game and the name for it.
