Seeing Justin Rose and Bryson DeChambeau win this past weekend inspired me to make some 2019 PGA Tour predictions. Both of these guys are at the top of their games - Rose is #1 in the World and DeChambeau has now won four of his past nine events worldwide. 2019 could be a huge season for these two - how many wins will these two get? Who else can keep up with them? Here are some of my predictions for this season.
MASTERS WINNER: Justin Rose. Rose came so close to winning the Masters in 2017 when he lost in a playoff to Sergio Garcia. He rose to #1 in the World by the end of 2018 and started off 2019 with a win at the Farmers Insurance Open. He's at the top of his game and should be a favorite to win at Augusta this year.
PGA CHAMPIONSHIP WINNER: Brooks Koepka. Bethpage Black is a course that sets up well for Koepka - he has a real good chance at going back-to-back. He's level-headed, powerful, and has a great short game - he has what it takes to tame the Black course.
US OPEN WINNER: Bryson DeChambeau. Bryson is long, accurate, and has a sold short game. He's also mentally strong and has a good head on his shoulders. He's proven that he can win on the tour and the next big step for him is winning a major. As long as he keeps his mind in check, he should rise to the occasion.
THE OPEN WINNER: Justin Rose. 2019 is going to be the best year of Justin Rose's career. I think he'll add yet another major to his resume with a win at The Open. HIs form has only been getting better heading into this season and I think he wants to stay on top of the world. I think Rickie and Rory will be strong contenders here, but Rose holds them off for his second major of the year.
